6. Why do you want to work at Allstate?

Make sure you sound excited when answering this Allstate Interview Question.  You need to flatter them and list various reasons for wanting to work at Allstate.  Below are some suggestions:

  • Allstate has many awards in regards to diversity, corporate, environmental friendliness, and social responsibility.
  • Say you would be proud to work for a company that created The Allstate Foundation.  The foundation supports two major causes which are safe teen driving and helping domestic abuse survivors.

  • This Allstate Interview question is to see if you are the right fit for this industry. It is in your best interest to say you would like to remain in insurance. If you don’t have a five-year goal have a look at other jobs in the insurance industry and find a job that suits you.
  • Have a look at their jobs on their website and find a position you can see yourself doing in five years (this will make you sound like you are not a job hopper).

8. What are your salary requirements?

  • This is a stressful question because if you ask for too much, you will not get the job, and if you ask for too little, they will happily underpay you.
  • Be sure to research salary expectations for your role before you go into the interview. There are plenty of sites that discuss salary ranges.
  • Ask about the salary range if you don’t know what to say.  You can then counter with the high end of the range.
  • Note most entry-level jobs will pay minimum wage.

9. What is your greatest weakness?

Seek recommends choosing something that you’ve already taken steps to improve, but isn’t mission-critical to the role.

Try to choose something that is not required to work at the company and that you have taken steps to improve.

For example,

  2. “I’m quite self-critical.”
  3. “I don’t delegate enough.”

  • Interviewers ask this question because they want to hire someone specific in their job hunt.
  • Employers want to hire someone who knows what they want. Therefore, state you have been actively monitoring jobs on the company’s website and that you are happy to get the interview.
  • Note you have to be honest when answering this question as they may already know how you applied for this position.

12. Why did you leave your last job?

  • Do not say anything negative about your previous employer
  • Do not say for money.
  • The commute was too long.
