Tim Hortons Team Member Interview Questions

1. Tell us about your previous work history?

  • You will want to answer this question in a way your previous work experience matches the requirements required for this job. If you have related work experience focus more on discussing that than anything else.
  • Don’t worry if this is your first job as Tim Hortons hires lots of first-time employees. A good answer for someone with no work experience is to say you have been focusing on school and now you are anxious to prove yourself in the workforce.

2. Why do you want to be a team member?

  • Say you enjoy working with customers and you enjoy the product and because of this, you would be happy to represent them.
  • Mention you will enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • State you love baking if the job requires you to bake.

3. How would you deal with an upset customer?

  • I would find out what is wrong with the customer. If it was the product I would offer to replace it. If they were upset because the service was too slow I would apologize. Say you believe the customer is always right and it is important to keep them happy as an unhappy customer will not return.

4. Why should I hire you?

For this question have another look at the job description and find key skills they are looking for and restate those skills. After rereading the job description below is what I found:

Your energy and passion for guest service are what make you a top team member in this fast-paced environment, while your ability to multi-task and communicate with your fellow team members will contribute to your success.

So when asked why should I hire you state:

  • Say you have great teamwork skills and will work well in any team.
  • Mention multi-task well and can easily take on many tasks at the same time.
  • Finally, say you have excellent communication skills and will communicate well with other team members.

Good interviewers will ask you to follow up with your responses. For example, if you say you multi-task well they may ask for an example of your multi-tasking in your last job.

5. Where do you see yourself in five years?

  • Have a look at other Tim Hortons Interview Questions and find a job you can see yourself doing in five years.  This will make you sound like you are in it for the long haul.

6. How do you create exceptional guest experiences?

  • I would make sure the service is fast, prompt, friendly, and accurate. Customers don’t want to stand in line for hours and they definitely want their orders – made to order.

7. Do you have any questions for us?

  • What type of training will I receive?
  • What hours will I work?
