McDonald’s Crew Member Interview Questions

Why do you want to be a crew member?

  • State that you have excellent communication skills, which allow you to excel as a crew member when dealing with customers.

Why should I hire you?

First, have a second read of the job description to find the skills they are looking for and match those skills to your own. Below is what I found after rereading the job description:

  • A Crew Member has three primary responsibilities: Customer Service, Food Preparation and Cleanliness, and Hygiene. (Skill required: attention to detail and communication skills)
  • What does it mean to be a Crew Member? Teamwork and excellent customer service. (skill required: teamwork and communication)
  • Good customer service skills are integral to how we do things at McDonald’s. You’ll be expected to provide our customers with quick and accurate service and show sensitivity to their individual needs (skill required: works well under pressure)

So, asked why I should hire you state:

  • Say you pay great attention to detail, allowing you to excel in food safety and preparation.
  • State that you have excellent communication skills, allowing you to communicate well with customers and co-workers.
  • Say you are a quick learner, and I will not have an issue learning all McDonald’s products.
  • Finally, mention that you will work well under pressure and have no problems dealing with the rush hour at McDonald’s.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

  • This question is asked to determine whether you have goals and, more importantly, whether you are a good fit for a crew member position. If you state that you can see yourself in restaurant management, then you will sound like a good fit for the position.
  • Tip!!! Before your interview, look at other job opportunities at McDonald’s and find a position you can see yourself doing in five years. They don’t want to hire someone who will quit in a few weeks. If you are willing to stay at McDonald’s for more than six months, they won’t mind training you.

  • State you will enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment.

  • There is no wrong answer to this question. However, you need to make sure your answers are well thought out.
