2. Why should Walmart hire you to be a cashier?

You should hire me because

  1. Say you have strong people skills which will allow you to provide excellent customer service.
  2. State you are good at multitasking and will not have any issues scanning items, answering questions, and bagging items during peak times.
  3. Finally, mention you are clean and organized and will always keep your workstation clean as you know it is important to make a good impression on the customer.

3. How do you handle stressful situations or difficult customers?

Mention that you actively listen to the customer, understand their concerns, and strive to ensure they leave satisfied.

I start by actively listening to the customer’s concerns, aiming to diffuse tension by showing understanding. I promptly address issues within my control. 4. Where do you see yourself in five years?

Interviewers ask this question because they want to know if your long-term career goals align with Walmart’s business objectives – retail.  They also want to know if hired for the position you will stay put in this role. 

  • For example, in five years I want to find a challenging position in retail management.  I feel Walmart is a great place to grow my career and I feel if I work hard, I can get to this level.

8. How do you feel about standing for long periods?

  • Most jobs in retail will require you to work on your feet for long periods. Tell the interviewer you do not have a problem with this. Wear comfortable, well-fitting shoes with low heels, maintain good posture, and stay hydrated.
