Walmart Vision Center Interview Questions
Walmart Vision Center Interview Questions

Why do you want to be an optician at Walmart?

  • I enjoy working with customers. I feel Walmart offers great value to the public and because of this, I would be proud to represent them.

Why should I hire you?

For this question, all you need to do is find the skills required in the job description and restate those skills.
Skills I see in the job description are:

  • Responsible for the regular care of the vision center and ensuring the proper appearance of the vision center and maintaining proper inventory levels (skill: attention to detail)
  • Ability to communicate effectively to maximize accuracy in the delivery of patient care (skill: verbal communication skills)
  • Being willing to take action on self-identified job responsibilities and challenges. Refers to the degree to which one jumps into action and seeks out challenges without waiting to be told. It will be proactive vs doing only what one is told to do. (skill: proactive)

So when asked why should I hire you state:

  • I pay great attention to detail which will help in tasks such as maintaining correct inventory levels, making sure the customer leaves satisfied, and keeping the vision center clean and presentable.
  • I have excellent communication skills and will be sure to listen and understand the customer’s needs. If I can meet the customer’s needs then they will leave satisfied which will increase the odds of repeat business.
  • I am proactive and willing to take action on self-identified job responsibilities.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

You want to answer this in a way that your goals match the business objections of Walmart.

A good answer would be

  • I would like to get into vision center management. (note this is a great answer as you sound committed to Walmart).
  • Tip!!! Look at Walmart jobs and find a career you can see yourself doing in five years. This will show you are not a job hopper and they won’t mind spending time training you.

What are your salary requirements?

  • This is always a difficult question to answer. On the one end, you don’t want to ask for too little but on the other end if you ask too much you won’t get the job. The best response is to ask what is the range. You can always do research on Walmart Optician salaries.
