  • Mention you love the service and the food you get at Chick-fil-A and, because of this, you would be proud to represent them.
  • State that you want to work for a growing franchise and learn more about this restaurant’s formula for success (reference any positive reviews on Yelp).
  • If you are going to college state, a career at Chick-fil-A is a great way to pay for school.

  • Reread the job description and find the skills and experience required for the position.
  • Next, match the skills required for the job to your skill set.

9. What are your salary expectations?

  • This is a stressful question because if you ask for too much, you will not get the job, and if you ask for too little, they will happily underpay you.
  • Be sure to research salary expectations for your role before the interview. Plenty of sites discuss salary ranges.
  • Ask about the salary range if you don’t know what to say. Then, counter with the high end of the range.
  • Note most entry-level jobs will pay minimum wage.

10. How would you deal with an irate customer?

  • Listen and let the customer vent.
  • Show the customer you care.
  • Don’t blame the customer or the company.

  • Unfortunately, this could be a trick question where they ask about things you didn’t like in your previous job.
  • The best answer is that you enjoyed everything about your last job; however, you feel you have learned all you could in that role and are now looking for new challenges.

15. How would your previous boss describe you?

Stating you have any of the characteristics below is a great way to answer this question. 

  • My boss would describe me as motivated, enthusiastic, respectful, curious,  presentable, happy, honest, polite, intelligent, ambitious, high energy, hospitable, and conscientious.

16. When have you gone above and beyond for a customer?

  • Customers love it when you go above and beyond for them, which generates more business. Think of a time you went above and beyond for a customer.
  • For example, when I was a server at a restaurant, we did not have a particular dessert. Luckily, the dessert next door had it, and I got it for them.

17. Could you tell me when your punctuality or attendance impacted your work?

  • Everyone misses work occasionally, but make sure you have a good reason. Also, explain what you did to reduce the impact of your absence.
  • For example, I worked at a popular fast-food chain and could not attend my shift due to an illness. I phoned several team members, and I was able to find someone to cover my shift.

18. Can you tell us about a time you disagreed with a coworker or manager and what the outcome was?

  • It is only natural to have conflict at work.  What is important is how you and your colleague develop a positive outcome.

  • Most restaurant jobs require you to work on your feet for long periods. If possible, let the interviewer know you are okay with this. Wear comfortable, well-fitting shoes with low heels, maintain good posture, and stay hydrated.

  • Be sure to familiarize yourself with the Chick-fil-A menu before your interview. Pick out a favorite item to show you are passionate about this restaurant.
